This infographic is a helpful introduction, but needs a bit of qualification.

When reading the "early signs" below, please remember that (1) many children start speaking later who are not autistic (see Dr. Thomas Sowell's book The Einstein Syndrome: Bright Children Who Talk Late and (2) a child's vision and hearing should be carefully checked by professionals before assuming that lack of eye contact and difficulties relating to peers are due to autism.
